Calatrava set to work on huge Greenwich Peninsula scheme

Spanish starchitect and engineer Santiago Calatrava is lined up for work on a major £1 billion project at Greenwich Peninsula
The architect’s scheme – which will be his first in London - is set to be revealed next week by developer Knight Dragon.
Calatrava, who recently completed a new transport hub at the World Trade Centre site in New York (pictured bottom), is believed to be working on plans to revamp North Greenwich station as part of Allies and Morrison’s masterplan for the area.
The masterplan, which was granted planning in 2015, replaced Terry Farrell’s 2004 Greenwich Peninsula masterplan and includes more than 15,000 homes, 48 acres of public spaces, a film studio and 300,000m2commercial buildings.
Allies and Morrison are working on affordable housing in the area while last year Penoyre and Prasad won a competition to expand the local school.
